This month marks one year that I took the leap of faith of leaving my corporate job to pursue a wellness coaching career. I have to tell you it’s been a heck of a ride - I’m definitely celebrating progress over perfection.
You guys... I’m taking it ALL IN right now in writing this out, The Rosie Vida turns one! If you’re a small business owner, you know how pivotal the first year is and what comes with owning your own business- many don’t make it past the 1st few months. So this is a big accomplishment for me!
Because the way you do one thing you do everything, right? This idea of being a health and wellness coach came to mind and without really understanding what coaching entailed of, I went full force ahead. I knew one thing though, I was not happy where I was a year ago and I was not getting any younger. It was my time to take reigns of my life and calling.
More than anything I knew I wanted to help people, I guess I just wanted to be the person that I once needed in my life, so I went for it. Against all odds really, because I never had been coached or understand what coaching was all about. But so typical of me, a true Taurus (a tad hard headed), once I get my head around an idea, I do what it takes ethically and professionally to make it happen. So I did!
Through prayer and resilience I decided to reach out to practicing coaches, I researched and interviewed them. I asked to be mentored and taught and I immediately started my certification process. I found means to be able to fund my coaching operation, branding efforts and personal & professional development.
You guys my calling is to serve others by ways of coaching and accountability support and with the right resources on board! How am I going to let this opportunity pass me by? Would you? Think about that for a minute..have you let a great opportunity pass you by just because fear got in the way? How many people could you have helped or inspired? I guess, we’ll never know… (I don’t want to live in regret, and I hope you either)
So I kicked off on a self awareness and resource trial journey, testing new products that would serve my clean & safe living lifestyle but also those whom I would come in contact with. Throughout this year, I’ve done my fair share of free coaching and lots and lots of product testing - by the way - loving every second of it.
I’ve discovered a few things along the way, that I would like to share-
Why am I sharing this with you?
Well because as I celebrate this mark in my business, and I take these discoveries into consideration, I’m more fired up than ever to press on forward in changing the way our society views self-care and where they place their priorities.
This year has helped me realize as well, how many people live unfulfilled because they are depending on material things and people’s approval to bring them true joy. Boy, how unfulfilling life could be when we place so much value on these things. I just want to shout it out to people…
Hey guys, all those things you possess and obsess over are going to be left behind, thrown in the garbage or used by others when you are gone. I could attest to that after experiencing multiple back to back deaths in the family and partaking in the property distribution process. (a very hard process by the way)
Why invest and prioritize so much on the material things instead of focusing your efforts in building character instead - it’s truly the ONLY one thing we’ll take with us at the end of this run at life.
I’ve also realized how the TRUE importance in improving ourselves - mind, body and soul. This allows us to be better equipped to love on and better serve others. In investing in yourself, you are building character and fundamentally establishing a healthier way of life. In doing so you’ll find the source of energy needed to thrive in your personal calling- so why not prioritize your self care, development, healing, etc.?
Not sure? This is your chance. Although, cliche it is true - Tomorrow is not promised so start today. I look forward to continue my path of self-development all while impressing that into every person that reads my posts, follow my feeds, that I meet, speak to and coach. I look forward to another year of life transformations and working towards improving our communities one person at a time.
A little secret - it doesn’t really take a village to make a difference but there is power in the numbers. So I’m going to manifest it right now and ask you to:
Join my mission - The Rosie Vida’s mission!
There are many ways you could start today -
Just take action!
Thank you for being a part of my journey and the first year of The Rosie Vida - I’d love to hear from you in how The Rosie Vida has impacted you. Let me know how I could support and stretch you alongside this upcoming year.
Like for many others, 2018 was as pivotal year for me, filled with challenges, accomplishments, progress, memories, transition and connections.
It was truly a great year!
It taught me many lessons including the importance of a clean and safe lifestyle.
Let me clarify, it’s not like I was living the life of a rock-star or being irresponsible with my life decisions, but I was just not wise enough to know the difference between the way that I was living and how I should and deserved to be living.
As I grew in my recently launched business and my coaching practice started to take shape, I realized how much I was learning from my connections, those people that I met along the way including my own coaching clients.
The more I focused on connecting with people, the more messages I would receive and the more they were aligned with living clean and safe.
Throughout this period, I too started to become more aware of my body’s voice - it was just so clear, loud and sometimes annoying because my critter brain was just not ready for that kind of talk.
My body started telling me how much it didn’t like certain things, but when I would vocalize it to others rather than take action, it retaliated on me. Like for real!
It came in many forms, such as:
week long tension migraines, hives, itching, bloated-ness and gas, lower back pain, hair loss, anxiety, loss of interest, love-hate relationship with food, Bladder & Kidney Infections, Nausea all the time, hormonal mood swings, motions sickness, etc.
It was clear that I needed to take action, otherwise I was never going to live a life on my terms. So going back to all those wonderful people that I’ve met up to date, it just seemed as if most of them were already on or at the least on the path of clean & safe living.
Like any other overachiever and book nerd, I started to ask questions - basically interviewing them as to what products they used, what did they eat and why, how much water or which water they drank, what cleaning products they used, down to what skincare and makeup line they were using.
I was desperate, a certified life and wellness coach who was going through it herself while helping others, but couldn’t seem to help herself. That’s a great testimonial, I sarcastically thought to myself! (I beat myself up a little bit as you can imagine)
So in my primary research I came across many Incredible resources that I was completely missing out on, all which lead me to living clean. I was so excited and motivated to get on that path, that I literally came clean!
I remember exactly the day that my husband and son walked into the house after a day at work and school and right after the usual welcoming hugging and kissing sesh; I came clean and I revealed to them that I purged everything in the house that was either harmful and/or toxic. They were surprised to not have found their usual go-to items such as toothpaste, deo, bubble bath soap (you could imagine how that went with a 4-year old), just to name a few.
Shortly after experiencing the backlash, I jumped on my computer and started placing orders from the companies that I did trust and were on board with supporting the mission of living clean and safe.
Ever since I made that decision, I’ve experienced a huge shift in my life and in my family. Together we read labels, we are conscious of what we put in and on our bodies, I no longer feel uncertain or guilty about what I’m giving my family, my symptoms of toxic living have diminished and I generally feel empowered and confident about the choices that I am making.
This could be you too! Living clean and safe is all about the products and resources you choose to bring into your home and lifestyle as well as mindset. But together we could make it happen.
If living clean and safe is a goal of yours but it all seems too overwhelming and confusing, don’t worry. Schedule a complimentary consult with me, together we will discuss your current lifestyle and come up with a plan of action without any stress, anxiety or pressure attached.
To make it easier and save you some valuable time, here are just a few resources that I no longer could live without and have implemented into my coaching programs, and in some products serve as a consultant or ambassador (I believe in the products that much).
Check them out below for yourself, next time you are coming close to replace a similar product. I guarantee your body will thank you!
